California woman killed in motorcycle accident

| Dec 31, 2018 | Motorcycle Accidents |

There are certain risks inherent with driving any type of motor vehicle. However, some might argue that motorcyclists could potentially face additional harm due to their relative lack of physical barriers to protect riders. As such, motorcyclists may need to be especially vigilant about following certain safety precautions. Unfortunately, it appears that speed may have been a factor in a recent motorcycle accident that resulted in a woman’s death in California.

The incident happened one evening on a day in mid-December. Reports indicate that the 28-year-old woman was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle driven by a 40-year-old man. The motorcycle was reportedly traveling over 100 mph prior to the accident.

While some of the details of the accident are unclear, the pair reportedly wrecked in the intersection of a California roadway. Unfortunately, the woman died at the scene. The male driver suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. It is unclear if charges are expected to be filed.

As a result of the motorcycle accident, the deceased woman’s family surely spent the holidays mourning her death rather than spending time together and creating new traditions and reliving old ones. Many people in California and across the country are unprepared for the financial ramifications of such a loss, leaving them struggling to meet their obligations. As a result, they may choose to seek recompense in a civil court. An attorney with experience with such cases can help grieving families fully understand the options available to them.
